I have been away from computer

But not away from yarn LOL. I have made a very soft scarf with a small blue loom, and a baby hat since the last time I blogged here, I also have been working very hard at the tankini top I had decided to make. I have the cups done. FINALLY!! I made them per the directions, and they looked like big banana boat sundae dishes, so I remade them... but altered the pattern until I thought it looked like the pictures in the book. Now I am working on the 'tank' part. Not sure I will like it in the colors I am using, but then again... This one is a 'trial' one, and I do not plan on swimming in this one LOL. Posting here is such a bugger, I am thinking of heading over to 360. That place is easier to navigate.
Well, I have my corned Beef on the stove already, Happy St. Patricks Day!!!

What a difference a day can make!

Well, I finally sat down, took a moment and re-read the pattern. It is a very easy pattern. I just was not reading it correctly. Must just be me, because today I picked this up this am and just flew thru it. I love it. Thank you to Dot Matthews for sharing the pattern.... She has many beautiful patterns in her blog.

I am going to try again on the 'Lacy Top' tomorrow. Tonight we have family game night and then the dh and I are going to go play cards............So crocheting will have to wait.
Have to run.

hey, I was the statue today. Cool!

ARGHHHHHHHHHHH

At the moment , I am not sure what I am more frustrated at. the crochet projects I am attempting or my husband. At least with the crochet.I can just rip it out and re-do.

I have recieved a book from Amazon in the mail.I can't remember the exact title ( and I am in a pinch with time @ the moment) but is is something like expert crocheting ( alluding to the fact that a beginner can become an expert) I will get the correct title maybe tomorrow if time allows. Anyhow, I am attempting the Blue Camisole top in said book :::: and right now the bra cup portion resembles a BOAT instead of a triangle shaped cup. I swear I read and followed the pattern exactly. The strange thing is , if I fold up the bottom protion of the 'cup' It looks FINE. Maybe It is to be done like this for added support?? and they just don't mention it??? I am so lost.

I tried to start a tiny 'bag' when I met at the local library with a bunch of ladies for a knit/crochet gathering. I couldn't get the bottom of the bag pattern to lay flat. I am not getting a great average here. I have ripped the bag out twice. I don't really mind......It just is a bit frustrating when I have just made 4 things in a row with out a hitch. Such is life.

My husband was just on the phone with me, says I need to make a list of what I don't like about him and what I want him to change because ( his words) "I feel like we are not communicating anymore and I can't say anything to you without having to worry if you are going to get mad"

I am trying to figure out WHO he is talking about.

Just when you think things are going along 'ok' someone rips the carpet out from under you. sheesh. I guess when he asked me this am if I clean the house by what I have on the calander ( Today I had "Clean fridge", mind you that is the ONLY cleaning type notation on the entire years calander) I looked at him and said "Don't Start". He must have got hurt feelings.( and since when does he worry about making me angry?? ) Oh well. So I need to get off here, clean the blessed fridge, run vacc. and get the kiddos dinner make my "list" ,THEN I can actually get to crochet today. Thinking of starting another 'cup' and see if that one comes out like a BOAT also. Zowie. Some days you are the pigeon, some days you are the statue.

Maybe tomorrow I can be the STATUE

Starting a 'Tankini Top' soon...

Well, I have decided to 'take the plunge' so to speak. and try to make my own swimwear for this upcomming season. I have found a top that I am absolutely in love with that I will modify ( hopefully LOL) and make it work for swimwear. I emailed the designer, and she says she never wrote the pattern down... however, the great ladies at crochetville.org have notified me that indeed a pattern does exist out there and in in a book at Amazon, not quite the same top, but will do. So I have purchased the book, and I have been notified that is was shipped yesterday....... now the waiting begins. 4 to 14 days to arrive. I think the pony express was faster, but that is ok. I don't even have the materials purchased yet! I have been trying to design my own top. This is WAY out of my league, but somehow has not stopped me from trying. I have the 'cups' done. but they are two different shapes LOL. I will 'add on' and make it work somehow LOL. The loacl library is trying to start a knitting / crocheting group .... they had a sign up list, but my name was the oly one on it > Huge dissapointment there........... but I will show up today and see what comes of it. Can't hurt to try. Here is a pic of the top I wanted to make..... It is gorgeous isn't it???

Friday morning. 3/2/07

Well,

I didn't get to post any pics yet. I ended up rushing the husband to the ER .................But I took my crochet with me ;-) Don't think ill of me for it. think of it as great time management. I started a 'net' for my dd to place her stufed toys in and hang in her room. I got quite a bit of it completed just sitting there waiting. I have not heard back from the designer on the top I am interested in making. I realize people usually have much busier lives than my own LOL. This am I am heading over to CGOA to look into a possible membership, and get thru some emails. Depending on how the dh feels, that might be all I get done today LOL.

FIrst day with new blog.

Wonderful! It is nice to devote a blog just to my interests. I just have so many that I kind of 'flutter' all around .

My current quest is to make a crochet top. I have recently finished a camisole ( 2 actually. one for the SiL also ;-) ) Leg warmers, a cardigan & a shrug for my dd. Mittens for my youngest ds.

As I get used to this new format, I will be adding pics. For right now, I am on a hunt for a pattern that had been a winner in a charity auction. It is just beautiful.
